Knowing that I only had a half day at work today, I’ve been stupidly excited to get some free daylight time to put the ‘winter’ wheels on the Defender. I’ve genuinely looked forward to it, as it gets me out the house and into my cold windy barn where I can smoke and drink coffee and procrastinate to my hearts content, especially so after the bad luck week I’ve had with vehicles and tools. On Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, I managed to chip an alloy and lose a wing mirror on the Skoda.
And these things come in threes, right? Thursday my gas nail gun quit working halfway through a big fencing job, leaving 21m of fence boards to be put in with screws and an impact driver. I coloured my week complete, or so I thought.
So today, full of excitement and enthusiasm for putting my newly refurbished wheels onto the Land Rover, I’ve managed to break one, and bend another breaker bar trying to get the rear wheel nuts off.
I hit my head hard on the open rear door of the Landy as I crawed out from underneath after setting the jack stand, and I’ve smashed my phone screen to pieces after leaning onto the breaker bar, forgetting that it was in the breast pocket of my jacket.
I’m so done. I’m going home. The wheels can wait. And at my count that’s 7 things, so I’m owed two more before the week’s out. And now it’s raining sideways. Have a great weekend.

This is the reason medical marijuana should be prescribed, so you don’t go crazy and can find a way to go from pissed off, to happy with only a few quick puffs.

I have a few nice brews chilling in the fridge. As soon as it’s a socially acceptable hour to start drinking, I’ll be straight in there.

At work my boss and my coworkers are always commenting about my ability to stay calm under pressure and how I’m never mad or barely ever upset. I just tell them yeah life has to have a balance yada yada yada.
But what I really want to say is that I smoke bud all the time and it keeps me from flipping out on you idiots.
